Federal law requires that patients have a follow-up with their provider at least every 90 days to refill Schedule II controlled substances. Providers may not change medication type, dosing, or anything else without a follow-up visit. These medications include Amphetamine-Dextroamphetamines, Methylphenidate, Vyvanse, Mydayis, and all other stimulant medications to treat ADHD.

Federal law prohibits providing refills on the bottles of these medications. Therefore, your provider will send three (3) individual prescriptions that are dated 28 days apart and will give you refill dates during your follow-up. For this reason, you may not see a prescription refill on your account for Scheduled II controlled substances.

If you require a change of any kind within the 90-day period, you must follow-up. In addition, no medication will be prescribed outside of the 90-day window.
